A daily email report of your store's carts and checkouts

Short answer: CartSpy sends a daily email report every morning: yesterday's carts, checkouts and orders, the abandoned carts with what was in them, where the carts came from, and what is worth fixing today.

It arrives around 6 AM in your store's time zone and is compared with the same day last week, so you see how the store did without opening anything.

Why a daily email report

Shopify's reports live in the admin: to see yesterday's numbers you open Analytics and look. Most store owners don't do that every day, and the reports that matter for carts, the ones between "added to cart" and "ordered", aren't on the home screen. A daily email report brings the day to you, at the same time every morning, in the same order, so a change stands out.

There are other ways to get reports by email: report-builder apps can schedule a custom report, and Shopify Flow can send messages on a schedule. Those need building. A cart report that is already laid out, with the abandoned carts in it, is what CartSpy's daily email is.

What's in CartSpy's daily email report

Where the email fits in CartSpy

CartSpy is an app for Shopify that records every add to cart, checkout and order through Shopify's web pixel. The email is the summary; the app is where you look closer: the live add-to-cart feed, the abandoned carts, including those left before checkout, and carts and orders by traffic source.

Further down the CartSpy daily email: products with their views and orders, some marked no orders, and abandoned carts, $30,364 across 147 carts, 48 of which reached checkout, with the largest carts and their items
Further down: products viewed but not ordered, and yesterday's abandoned carts, with how many reached checkout. From the CartSpy demo store.

The email reports; it doesn't send anything to your customers. Recovery emails to shoppers are Shopify's abandoned checkout emails or your email tool's job. The listing: CartSpy on the Shopify App Store (apps.shopify.com/cartspy).

Questions about the daily email report

Is there a Shopify app that emails me a daily report of carts and orders?

Yes. CartSpy sends a daily email report each morning with the previous day's carts, checkouts and orders, the abandoned carts and what was in them, where the carts came from and what is worth fixing. It is included in both plans.

What time does the daily email arrive?

Around 6 AM in your store's time zone, covering the previous day.

Can more than one person receive it?

Yes. You choose the email addresses in CartSpy's settings, and each email has an unsubscribe link.

Does it include carts that never reached checkout?

Yes. The abandoned carts section counts every cart that didn't become an order and says how many of them reached checkout and how many were left before it.

Is the daily email report included in every plan?

Yes. It is part of Essential ($7.99 a month) and Advanced ($14.99 a month), each with a 7-day free trial.
